OUR DOCTRINE
THE BIBLE
We affirm the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life (Romans 15:4, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21).
CREATION
We believe in a literal 6-day (24-hr day) creation as set forth in Genesis 1 (Genesis 1).
THE GODHEAD
We affirm the Godhead existent in three persons- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attribute, and perfections, and worthy of the same worship, confidence, and obedience (Hebrews 1:1-3, John 10:30, Matthew 4:16-17, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Matthew 28:18-19).
MARRIAGE
We affirm that God designed and ordained marriage as a union between one man and one woman. ( Genesis 2: 24, Mark 10: 6-9).
ANGELS
We affirm that God created a great company of sinless, spiritual beings (angels); that one, Lucifer (now known as Satan) sinned through pride, and that a great company of the angels followed him in his moral fall, some of whom became demons and are active as his agents in unholy purposes, while others who fell are “reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day” (Isaiah 14: 12-17), and that Satan is the originator of sin and, under the permission of God, led our first parents into sin which subjected them and their posterity to his own power. We affirm that a great company of angels kept their holy estate and are before the throne of God, from there they are sent forth as ministering spirits to those who shall be heirs of salvation (Luke 15:10; Ephesians 1:21; Hebrews 1:14).
THE STATE OF MAN
We affirm that man was originally created in the image and after the likeness of God and that he fell through sin and as a consequence of his sin, lost his spiritual life, becoming dead in trespasses and sins, and that he became subject to the power of the devil. We also affirm that this spiritual death has been transmitted to the entire human race of man (except Jesus Christ) and that every child of Adam and Eve is born into the world with a Godless, fallen nature apart from divine grace. We also affirm that the consequences of mankind’s fall extends into the created world in which he lives ( Romans 5: 12,18; Romans 8:20-22; Genesis 1: 26, 2:17; Jeremiah 17:9; Ephesians 2: 1-3).
JESUS CHRIST
We affirm that God, through His prophecies in Scripture, announced the coming of His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world so that he might manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer of a lost world. To this end He was born of the virgin Mary, received a human body and a sinless human nature and that in infinite love for the lost, He voluntarily accepted his Father’s will and became the divinely provided sacrifice to take away the sin of the world, bearing in His body the holy judgments against sin which a righteous God must impose. His death is defined as the just for the unjust- and by his death he became the Savior of the lost. We affirm that he rose bodily from the dead and that His resurrection body is the pattern which will ultimately be given to all believers. We also affirm that upon his departure from this earth and his ascension into heaven, Jesus’ work was accepted by His Father and that his ascension is our assurance that his redeeming work was perfectly accomplished, and that He is Head over all things to the church (His body) and that in this ministry He does not cease to intercede and advocate for the saved (John 1:18; Luke 2:40; 1Timothy 2:6; Philippians 3:20,21).
THE WORK OF CHRIST
We affirm that no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born again, and that this new birth comes thru faith in Jesus Christ. As one repents of their sins, we affirm also that our redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ who was made to be sin and was made a curse for us, dying in our stead - a total work of grace. We affirm that because of the unchanging purposes of God toward mankind, those once saved shall be kept saved forever (Romans 5:6-9; John 3:7-18; Philippians 3:9; John 5:24, 10:28).
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We affirm that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is fully God in all His person and attributes and convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He regenerates sinners and by his baptism unites all believers in one body. His indwelling presence illuminates, guides, equips and empowers all believers; enabling them for Christ –like living and service (John 16:8-11; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 2: 11 -14; Ephesians 1:13- 14).
THE CHURCH
We affirm that all who are born again are members of the Church, the body and bride of Christ, which began at Pentecost and is distinct from Israel. The body of Christ is manifested in local churches, whose membership is composed only of believers. The Lord Jesus mandated two ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which visibly and tangibly express the gospel. Though they are not the means of salvation, when these ordinances are celebrated by the church in genuine faith they confirm and nourish the believer (Matthew 16: 16-18; Acts 2:42-47; Romans 12:5; Ephesians 1:20 – 23).
THE CHRISTIAN'S GROWTH AND SERVICE
We affirm that we are called with a holy calling not to walk after the flesh, but after the Spirit and to live in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit in order that we do not yield to the desires of the flesh. As Christians we are set apart to grow in grace and to be changed by the unhindered power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives. We also affirm that that the same Holy Spirit has imparted divine-enabling gifts for service to each believer - to the building up of the Body of Christ, His church. We affirm that, apart from salvation, benefits will be bestowed equally upon all those who believe. Eternal rewards are promised according to the faithfulness of each believer in the service for their Lord and that these rewards will be bestowed at the judgment seat of Christ after he comes to receive His own to Himself (Galatians 5:16-23; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1Corinthians 12:4-11; Colossians 2:1-10). We also affirm that every believer in our Lord Jesus Christ has been commissioned by Him to be related to this work as his ambassadors -their goal in life is to make Christ known to the whole world (Matthew 28:18 -19, 2 Corinthians 5:18-20,; Acts 1:8; 1Peter 1:17, 2:11)
THINGS TO COME
We affirm that according to the work of God the next great event in the fulfillment of prophecy will be the coming of the Lord in the air to receive to himself into heaven both His own who are alive and remain unto his coming and also all who have fallen asleep in Jesus and that this rapture is the blessed hope set forth in the scriptures. We also affirm that the rapture will be followed by a 7-year period that is the fulfillment of Israel’s 70th week as set forth in the scriptures. The whole period of Israel’s seventieth week will be a time of judgment on the whole earth as the end of which the times of the gentiles will be brought to a close. The latter half of this period will be the time of Jacobs’ trouble which our Lord called the great tribulation. We also affirm the period of great tribulation on the earth will be climaxed by the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth as He went in person on the clouds of heaven and with power and great glory to establish his millennial reign on the earth. At this time Israel will be restored to her own land fully realizing all of God’s covenant promises (Daniel 9; Revelation 6; Acts 1:11).
THE ETERNAL STATE
We affirm that after death the spirits of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation pass immediately into his presence and there consciously remain until the resurrection of the glorified body at the time of Christ’s second coming. It is at this time that the soul and body will be reunited and will be forever with Christ in glory. We also affirm that after death the spirits of the unbelievers are conscious of condemnation and in misery until the final judgment of the great white throne, when soul and body are reunited and the individual is cast into the lake of fire, not to be annihilated, but to experience everlasting judgment (Luke 16:19 – 26; Revelation 20: 11 – 15; 2 Thessalonians 1: 7-9).
